Wiki Version:
This OSF folder contains the materials and code needed to run an artificial language learning experiment comparing learning in a production focused condition to a comprehension focused condition. More information about this project, including links to the published article, can be found in the parent folder: https://osf.io/p28uh/ Directions for setting up the experiment can be found under the Files tab in the document titled "how to set up the experiment on a new computer". Note that the 'Data' folder is empty, it is just needed for setting up the experiment on a new computer. The data we collected is hosted in a different subdirectory of this project, link: https://osf.io/bbf3c/. The file experiment.py runs the actual experiment, the file experimentwithcomments.py has the same experiment but with comments added to make it easier to understand for other researchers - note that we have not tested the 'experimentwithcomments.py' version, for running the experiment the 'experiment.py' version was used and should be used in the future as well. If you have any questions at all or would like help from me to run the study yourself to either replicate these findings or run modified versions, please feel free to contact me at hopman@wisc.edu
