**Pitch**
Some universities are covered by sunshine laws: work they published is FOIAble. We're templating the process for filing requests for the work of profs who want their own past work to be more publicly available.
**Project game plan**
- Identify authors and papers
- Interface for authors to select their own papers to FOIA
- Bimodal: New papers / past list
- Generate request: fill out form for {set of works}
- Send email w/ details on how to respond.
- Details: IR+F contact, state deadline
- Followup: MuckRock API
- Accept responses (link to IR), update requestor
- Delegation, testing

**Output summary:**
*What were you able to tackle (and what eluded you)? Include links to any outputs.*
We walked through examples and scenarios with some authors, and reached out to OA and archiva-access efforts that have thought through similar approaches before. Gathered data on state and university policies, and available interfaces. Compared process with the [Wikipedia OA campaign][1] from last fall.
**Challenges encountered**
Practical feedback needed: from authors who would use this, and institutions interested in the experiment. How does this improve on current IR efforts: moral, legal, procedural affordances?
**What's next?**
Getting a site up and running for authors to invite FOIA of themselves: simple web interface and mobile app for starting this process.
First instance: look for interested subfields, universities. Invite detailed review
