Description: How do people mentally divide a geometrical shape (i.e. define spatial categories) when they have to recall from working memory a target previously presented within the shape? In this work, we systematically investigated the type of information (i.e. extrinsic and intrisic factors, and related frame of reference) that is used by partcipants to define spatial categories. We observed flexible usage of multiple reference frames.
