The Effects of Gratitude and Mood on Performance in a Flanker Task

Participants wrote either a letter of gratitude or one focusing on negative events, and then performed a flanker task following the display of a happy or angry face. Results indicated no effect of letter writing condition; however, on incongruent trials, participants were faster following happy faces than angry faces.
