Wiki Version:
Dear Sir or Madam, I am one of the presenters in 2018 SASP, and here are my talks hoping to put in your OSF website. Subject: BIG DATA IN SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY - METHODOLOGY AND APPLICATION Message Body: Big data available through social media platforms can be used to understand social phenomena in their naturalistic environment and reveal the dynamic processes that take place over time. However, despite the immense potential of this form of research, there remains a lack of guidance for social psychologists who want to specialise in studies of this nature. This paper presents: (a) an overview of existing studies that have examined the big data through Facebook or Twitter platforms to a variety of psychological themes; and (b) the strengths and limitations of big data approach in comparison to the typical methods relying on lab experiments or surveys. We conclude with an illustration of big data analytics using tweets from a recent rugby game to highlight how the method can be used to understand changes in group-based emotions. Attachment: see attachment. Thanks million for doing this for us! Please let me know if you have any further questions.
