Wiki Version:
We will use a computerized version of the experiment (programmed with Inquisit 4) to minimize the experimenters’ interaction with the participants. This will also allow us a better control over the timing of the primary tasks as well as the filler task. Participants will be seated in front of one of three lab computers and instructed to wear headphones throughout the experiment. This ensures a) that they are able to understand the bank robber and b) that they are not distracted by other participants. The computers are arranged in a way that participants cannot see each other (using non-transparent partitions, practically transforming the workplaces into cubicles).
