**Downloading and installing R Studio**

**Installing necessary packages**
We will be using two packages in the workshop: “here” and “tidyverse”
1. Open R Studio (no need to open R separately, it will open on its own in the background)
2. On the top menu select Tools -> Install Packages
3. In the Packages box, type “here, tidyverse” (without the quotation marks, separated by a comma)
4. Ensure that the “Install dependencies” checkbox is selected
5. Click Install button
6. You will see a bunch of red and black text show up in the window. This is good, and means that the packages are being installed.
