For example "R-3.6.1.pkg" 6. Save the .pkg file, double click to open, an follow the instructions to install **Downloading and installing R Studio** 1. Go to [https://rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/][2] 2. Under "R Studio Desktop" click on "Download" 3. Click on the version recommended for your operating system. Save the .dmg file on your computer, double-click it to open, and then drag and drop it into your applications folder. **Installing necessary packages** We will be using two packages in the workshop: “here” and “tidyverse” 1. Open R Studio (no need to open R separately, it will open on its own in the background) 2. On the top menu select Tools -> Install Packages 3. In the Packages box, type “here, tidyverse” (without the quotation marks, separated by a comma) 4. Ensure that the “Install dependencies” checkbox is selected 5. Click Install button 6. You will see a bunch of red and black text show up in the window. This is good, and means that the packages are being installed.
