Wiki Version:
**Original citation.** Addis, D.R., Wong, A.T., & Schacter, D.L. (2008). Age-related changes in the episodic simulation of future events. *Psychological Science, 19*(1), 33-41. **Target of replication.** We seek to replicate the original authors' finding of group differences in episodic specificity between young and older adults; specifically, that older adults produced fewer internal details than young adults in both temporal directions (past and future), F(1,30) = 14.49, prep = 0.99. **A priori replication criteria.** A successful replication would find that older adults had a lower internal AI score than younger adults. To test the chosen statistical effect that older adults produced fewer internal details than young adults in both temporal directions, we planned to conduct a 2 (temporal direction: past vs. future) x 2 (time period: weeks vs. years) x 2 (group: young vs. old) mixed measures ANOVA on internal AI scores. Temporal direction and time period were within subjects factors. Group was a between subjects factor, α = .05. Young and old adults with no reported history of neurological or psychological impairment were recruited for this study. In the original experiment, two participants were excluded due to technical difficulties.
