**Older Adults Beyond the Stroop Test: Enhanced Daily Functions with Acute Exercise** The benefits of acute exercise and exercise in general have been widely explored and validated to improve numerous physical (e.g. weight loss, improved strength), medical (e.g. heart disease, diabetes), and mental health (e.g. depression). Still, in the population of older adults the risk of injury, depression, and loss of cognitive function increases. The following study examines how acute exercise could be a possible moderator to cognitive and physical function loss. The adults will be placed into two groups one exercise and the other control (no exercise). The duration of the exercise will be 15 minutes and monitored for exertion with the Ratings of Perceived Exertion Scale (RPE). Cognition will be assessed using an applied medication sorting task and the Stroop test. Physical function will be assessed by measuring hand grip strength, the Berg Balance Test, and Time Up and Go test.
