This repository serves as a platform for the PNEC project, aimed at sharing a compilation of PNEC values of pharmaceuticals from various sources. You'll find the 'dataPNEC.xlsx' file here, containing all extracted PNEC values along with their corresponding information in the readme file. Additionally, within the 'Source files' folder, you can access the R script utilized for PNEC standardization, alongside the relevant source files. The 'Extraction tables' folder contains additional information on source files not utilized in the standardization script, i.e., brand names searched in EPAR reports that yielded no environmental information and complete data from the UBA 'Quality Target' database. Information on data sources and data collection can be found on the pre-print "A collection of Predicted No-Effect Concentrations of human pharmaceuticals and their metabolites" (https://doi.org/10.1101/2023.12.12.571257). We welcome any suggestions for improvements that can be made to this work. Transparency and collaboration are vital for optimizing the utilization of PNEC values in the environmental risk characterization of pharmaceuticals.
