## Data ## - The data set concerning the frequencies of Instagram activities can be found at [Figshare][1]. The data set covers the period of the research project (November 2019-June 2020) and includes the data from 110 Instagram accounts. - Please cite the data as van Driel, I. I., Giachanou, A., Pouwels, L., Boeschoten, L., Beyens, I., & Valkenburg, P. M. (2021). *Data set belonging to van Driel et al. (2022). Promises and pitfalls of social media data donations.* [Data set]. doi:https://doi.org/10.21942/uva.19747042 ## Analyses ## - The DDPs were deidentified with a Python script that combined anonymization and pseudonymization. A detailed discussion of the deidentification procedure is provided in [Boeschoten et al. (2021)][2]. The deidentification script is available at [ZENODO][3]. - Python scripts were used to count the (1) overall characteristics of the account (e.g., number of followers, private vs public account, date of creation of account) and (2) activities of the account (e.g., number of posts, stories, likes, and comments) during the eight-month period of the project. The scripts are available at [GitHub][4].
