Wiki Version:
This video depicts the procedures for data collection. The file is in German. The procedures can be found in writing and translated to English via translation algorithm in the folder "Ablaufplan - procedure". Note, the document is not language edited and should not be used prior proper language editing. The English document serves illustration purposes. In the procedure, there are datailed instructions for the interview. We included a clarification about the topics: data protection, declaration of consent, conditions for termination and ask if everything has made clear in the interviewers text. Additionally, there is more information about the variables we assessed in the procedure document. According to descriptions in the original study's paper, we asked participants about their gender at the beginning to allow for gender-matching in the stories for the experimental and control condition ("The control and status stories were carefully matched to include interactions with same-sex peers." p. 395). We allow the participant to choose between male, female and diverse. Nevertheless, participants who choose diverse are asked to decide whether they want to proceed as male or female. We need this, because our texts are gendered. This is why, we need to ask the participants with an ambigious gender. The participant is offered debriefing at the end but can choose not to.
