We are investigating the question how facial expression (neutral versus smiling) affect kinship judgments.
- We predict a main effect of true relatedness whereby related children pairs are more often judged as being related than unrelated pairs
- We predict a two-way interaction (relatedness : facial expression) whereby related children pairs are more often judged as being related when shown smiling than when shown neutral, and that unrelated children pairs are less often judged as being related when shown smiling than when shown neutral.
