@[osf](nkcjz) Scottish Wildcat Action ------------------------------------- Welcome to the **Scottish Wildcat Action** (SWA) online data repository. The **SWA** partnership project was a key element to deliver the 2013 [Scottish Wildcat Conservation Action Plan][1] (SWCAP), funded by the [National Heritage Lottery Fund][2], the [Scottish Government][3] and others. [NatureScot][4] were the lead partner. Gaywood et al (2022) provides further detail and summarises the outcomes of the SWA project. **Data held within this repository** The project data is partitioned into two *components*: 1. The **Cat sampled database** contains all data gathered on samples collected from cats (dead and alive) during the project including genetic results, disease, morphology and associated metadata. These are the main data used for many of the reports published under the SWA project. 2. **Cat identification and encounter data** contains the data on individual cats including where and when they were seen and what they looked like. These are the data that form the basis of much of the monitoring reporting under SWA such as the population assessments.
