Wiki Version:
**Original citation.** Ganor-Stern, D., & Tzelgov, J. (2008). Across-notation automatic numerical processing. *Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition, 34*(2), 430-437. **Target of replication.** This study seeks to replicate the original authors' finding of a CDE for pairs of numbers written in different forms, in both RT, F(1, 28) = 26.69, p < .001. **A priori replication criteria.** A successful replication would find that larger, rather than smaller, numeric differences would be associated with better performance (shorter RTs and lower ER) on the same-different task. We plan to conduct a 3 (Notation: Arabic, Indian, Mixed) x 2 (Numerical difference: small, large) x 2 (Task order: first, second) mixed ANOVA. Notation and Numerical difference are within-participants variables; Task is a between-participants variable. Participants all reported that they were native Arabic speakers. We plan to exclude from our analyses any trials with response times shorter than 200 ms or longer than 2,500 ms; this was the same exclusion criteria Ganor-Stern and Tzelgov used.
