**DATA REPOSITORY**: ## Comparing comparatives: *Appropriateness ratings of synthetic, analytic and double comparatives in American and British English* This repository contains all data, code, plot, and stimuli files used for the experimental study reported in the paper. The experiment was a rating study with a 3x2x2 design targeting the approporiateness and evaluativity (interpretation) of three comparatives (morphological, analytical, and double comparative) in formal and informal condition rated by American and British English native speakers. ---------- The repository contains the following folders: - stimuli folder: *The stimuli items used in the study are provided as .csv file.* - code folder: *The code used for the analysis is provided as .Rmd file and the generated .html file with the results. The code file containes the necessary steps to process the data, descriptive statistics for participants' demographics as well as the ratings, the code for the plots, the inferential statistic analysis, and session information. The code can be used to replicate the results by using either the raw data file and generating the processed data set step by step or by using the provided processed data file directly.* - data folder: *The raw and processed data of the rating study as well as the participants' demographics are provided as .txt files.* - plot folder: *The .png files of the plots used in the paper. The code required for the file generation can be found in the code.txt file.*
