Wiki Version:
This study extended the goal congruity perspective on gender and motivation to include parental roles. Two hundred thirty-six participants (120 parents) age 25 to 35 were recruited via TurkPrime. Among both men and women, parenthood was associated with greater endorsement of communal goals and interest in feminine careers. Among women only, parents held more gender-typical goals and career interests than non-parents.
