Wiki Version:
We present a new analysis of Talmy’s (2000) Satellite-/Verb-Framed typology that accounts for both Strong and Weak Satellite-Framed languages, within the Spanning approach to the syntax-morphophonology interface. We stick to a Bare Phrase Structure model of syntax and a purely morphophonological explanation of linguistic variation, and we overcome the drawbacks of previous approaches based on head movement.
