This project consisted of a large survey of American adults, including the following sections: - Screening (including some demographics) - Current civic and personal engagements and motivations: what are participants involved in (issues/causes, organizations, hobbies), and what motivates their involvement? - Science interests and preferences (interest in a range of science topics, and extent to which one sees connections between science interests and other involvements) - Science engagement: motivations, experiences, likes, dislikes, and barriers (interest in a range of science engagement activities, motivations for engaging, satisfaction with current engagements, barriers to engaging) - Science engagement: ideal (experimental portion crossing various science topics with various science engagment activities, to test the influence of topic and activity, independently and together, in interest) - Science attitudes and values (opinions about the role of science in society) - Demographics The raw data is included as a .xlsx file. The survey instrument, annotated to include variable names, value types, and other notes is included as a .docx file. Please send questions about this work to Rose: rhendricks@astc.org
