## Open data workshop This is the first in a series of **Applying open practices to our own research** sessions from EROS, our departmental open research working group. All materials can also be found on the project site here https://cbolibaugh.github.io/OpenDataWorkshop/ ### Description Who is it for? Anyone who would like to learn more about the care and sharing their research data. The sessions are aimed at staff and research students. ### What is it about? Archiving and sharing of research data is now being expected as a matter of course, but is not always straightforward with important ethical, legal and practical considerations. The first half of the workshop will review epistemological, methodological, legal, and ethical issues in the movement towards open data, and the second will introduce a range of tools and resources to help you share data in an ethical and FAIR way. Each session will include time to work on your own research data. **Schedule** 00 Introduction 9:30 - 9:40 Slides 01 What to keep and why - data reuses cases and you 9:40 - 10:10 Slides Activities 02 What to share and how - sharing ethically and legally 10:15 - 11:00 Slides Activities 03 Avoiding zombie data - FAIR to the rescue 11:15 - 12:00 Slides Activities ### Resources Towse, J.
