At the time of each survey, participants uploaded a statement describing their research in approximately 1,000 words. They were free to either upload an old statement or write a new one. The Research Statement PROMPT contains the instructions given to participants for writing their research statements. The Research Statement RUBRIC was used by independent raters to score participants' research statements. The Rater Reports forms were used by the research team to enter the raters' scores into a dataset for analysis. The actual research statements submitted by participants will not be made public, in order to protect participants' confidentiality.
