Wiki Version:
The methods for assessing vagally mediated heart rate variability (HRV) and the theoretical rationale for related experiments are diverse (Mosley & Laborde, 2022). However, the relationship between the diving reflex and hydrostatic pressure as triggers for physiological responses remains insufficiently explored. Therefore, further experiments are needed to investigate the impact of head out immersion up to the chest (HOIC) and face immersion on HRV. This study aims to analyze the effects of HOIC and additional face immersion on RMSSD, a key measure of vagally mediated HRV, and to explore potential connections between the diving reflex and hydrostatic pressure. The dataset includes the raw measurements, listing all assessed mean HRV parameters for each condition.
