Wiki Version:
Shared here are the resources for a 12-week module on Evidence Based Practice, as has been delivered at the University of Greenwich by Dr Thomas Rhys Evans, Sep-Dec 2022, for the Occupational Psychology MSc. The purpose of this module is to support skill development surrounding the *identification*, *evaluation*, *synthesis* and *application* of evidence. This module was built to increase student's critical skills by building upon the recent open scholarship movement, whilst also providing a safe and inclusive environment to learn and grow. It's currently orientated to Occupational, Business, HR and I/O Psychology contexts but could be easily adapted for any core field of study. Here you will find 12 weeks worth of content, and all the associated documentation (e.g., lectures, assessment criteria, example assignments, core text) covering the following themes: 1. Types and Forms of Evidence 2. Finding Evidence 3. Evaluating Evidence Quality 4. Rules of Thumb and Formal Quality Evaluation Tools 5. Effective Evaluation of Evidence 6. Introduction to Evidence Synthesis and Systematic Literature Reviews 7. Meta-Analyses 8. Inconsistencies and Consensuses 9. Applying Evidence in Practice 10. Science Communication 11. Introduction to Evidence-based Practice 12. Barriers to/Limitations of Evidence-based Practice A big thanks go to my amazing students from the Occupational Psychology MSc programme at the University of Greenwich for very kindly allowing me to share your work in this open space! The rest of the work shared here was created in my own time and made available through a CC-By Attribution 4.0 International license. As such, you are welcome to use and adapt this work however you see fit (some lectures might need adapting for use outside of occupational psychology contexts!) but please do cite to acknowledge this work so I can track the impact it has!
