This presentation is an overview of research on the weapons effect, based on recent meta-analytic research. The presentation will offer a thorough and skeptical treatment of the weapons effect literature, examining the robustness of mean effect sizes, as well as the influence of outlier and publication bias effects. Suggestions for future research will be examined.
