The Bath opEn humAnoid for Teaching and Research in robotICS(X) (BEATRIX) robot, shown below, is an open-source hardware and software platform for university education and research. This platform was designed with mechanical, electronics, sensors and computational aspects to teach robotics engineering with applications such as object and sound detection and tracking, perception and action for human-robot interaction and autonomous systems, where the robot perceives information from the environment, employing cameras and microphones to make decision and perform appropriate actions.
