@[youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dGMhFZQ5mk&list=PLChfyH8TVDGmYENpXUDPaeeq2SLh8q9dt&index=24) Abstract: Contemporary scientific practices are not value free, and have roots in colonial legacies that still need to be dismantled. Furthermore, contemporary data remain embedded in categorizations and taxonomies that reinforce problematic racial categories and serve to devaluate the labor of particular populations. This panel will explore the role of metascience in the work of dismantling inequities and discuss the responsible use of data in metascience. The panel will close with recommendations for metascientists and policy makers on how they can use metasciences for evidence-based practices and policy.
