Description: With the present project, we will examine this potential influence by looking at the difference in children’s gaze following behaviour before and after the COVID-19-related duty to wear facial masks. We aim to answer the following research question: Do infants and children who are for a substantial amount of time surrounded by people wearing facial masks show different gaze following than infants before the COVID-19-related facial mask obligation? To address the research question, we will use the combination of a cross-sectional and longitudinal research design. We will conduct two studies to explore infants’ and children’s gaze following behaviour and development.
