Stage 1 Registered Report presented at the [Junior Researcher Programme Conference 2020][1].
Abstract:
> This project attempts to conceptually replicate the finding that herd
> immunity communication increases vaccination intentions (Betsch, C. et
> al. Nat. Hum. Behav. 0056 (2017)). The effects of descriptive social
> norms and the herd-immunity threshold will be additionally explored.
> An online experiment will be conducted with 540 non-senior adults
> residing in the UK. The social benefit of herd immunity will be
> presented in both textual and animated-infographic form. The project,
> submitted as a Registered Report, was granted in-principle acceptance
> at the British Journal of Health Psychology. The findings will
> contribute to communication strategies that harness social processes
> to address vaccine hesitancy.
Abstract is printed in the Conference Booklet (available upon request).
