Description: Current research on practical significance of item misfit mostly uses data from published studies, which have already been screened for misfitting items. To investigate the practical significance of item misfit, field test data are used in this project. In cooperation with the Centre for International Student Assessment (ZIB), field test data from PISA 2018 are analyzed. We discuss criteria for assessing the significance of item misfit and evaluate them w.r.t. the field test data.
