<h3>Description</h3>
This page includes all material, data, and code necessary to reproduce the manuscript and the results of the following two papers:
- "What Others Do, Approve Of, and Expect You to Do: An In-Depth Analysis of Social Norms and Self-Disclosure on Social Media" (Component "Study 1"; in press).
- "Behavioral Contagion on Social Media: Effects of Social Norms, Design Interventions, and Critical Media Literacy on Self-Disclosure" Components "Study 2" & Study 3; published in PLOS One)
<h3>Reproducing the results</h3>
In order to computationally reproduce the results, you need to recreate the folder structure that you can see on this OSF page.
1. Create a project folder in which you download the r-project-file "SNSD_r-project.Rproj"
2. Download all components as zip folders, unzip them and put them into the folder.
3. Rename folders to bibliography, manuscript, study_1, study_2, and study_3, bibliography. This is important as the links between the files will otherwise not work!
4. Open the document "manuscript.rmd" in the folder "manuscript" with RStudio
5. Make sure that all packages (also those that are used in the analyses scripts of all three studies) are installed.
6. Knit the document. This will run all analyses scripts, produce html-outputs for each analysis and create the PDF of the manuscript.
<h3>Data Statement</h3>
All data from all three studies are copyrighted but you are free to use it for scientific purposes without permission as long as you give credit to the authors by citing this page and the original publication.
Use of the data for other, non-scientific purposes is strictly prohibited.
