The data will be compiled and participants who are not White or are over the age of 25 will be removed from the data set. Any participants who did not complete the full study will also be removed. A Chi-Square will be conducted that will examine the proportion of people in each condition (verbal description vs. control) who correctly identify the bank robber. A second Chi-square will examine the ratio of percentage of people selecting the wrong face to the percentage indicating the individual was “not present” in the two conditions. Finally a 2 (Condition: verbal description vs. control) × 2 (Response: correct vs. incorrect/miss) analysis of variance on confidence ratings will be conducted.
