Wiki Version:
These transcribed interviews were conducted as part of the data collection for Johanna Cohoon's dissertation work, Negotiating Open Science. In the interest of open science, some study participants have chosen to share their anonymized transcripts. Three of 13 developer interviews, four of nine non-user interviews, and nine of 15 user interviews are shared here. In general, a higher participant number (e.g. D15 is higher than D1) indicates the interview occurred later in the data collection process. Interview protocols were revised for each participant. The template for each interview type (i.e. user, nonuser, or developer) is available [here][1]. Anonymizing qualitative data can be very difficult. When anonymizing this data, my goals were to protect participants' privacy and to preserve the value of their data. These interviews were conducted to understand participants' work practices and interactions with OSF, therefore any descriptions of such routines have been retained during anonymization. However, details like names, dates, locations, specific research topics or project names, publication venues, etc. have been redacted. Overall, my goal has been to remove details such that a Google search of keywords from a given interview would not return any results that could reveal a participant's identity.
