Wiki Version:
This project contains raw data and MATLAB code associated with the manuscript "***Correlated individual differences suggest a common mechanism underlying metacognition in visual perception and visual short-term memory"*** by Jason Samaha and Brad Postle (see pdf). The data are from three behavioral experiments requiring observers to estimate the perceived or remembered orientation of grating stimulus. The MATALB code reproduces the results reported in the manuscript and requres the Circular statistics toolbox (https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/10676-circular-statistics-toolbox--directional-statistics-) as well as MGL (http://gru.stanford.edu/doku.php/mgl/overview). The serial dependence code relates to an analysis of experiment 2 examining autocorrelation in observers responses as a function of confidence (see pdf). It additionally requires code to perform mixture modeling of error distributions, acquired from the Bays lab. http://www.paulbays.com/code/JV10/
