Our aim is to investigate trends of the characteristics and effort of conducting systematic reviews over time. We searched PubMed for systematic reviews published between 01/01/2000 and 31/12/2019 and included a random sample of 4000 titles and abstracts, which we will screen for eligibility. Data on various descriptive and methodological characteristics of the systematic reviews will be extracted and analyzed.
