Wiki Version:
In this paper, I present new data on nominalization in Mandinka. I argue that objects of nominalized verbs can be analyzed as instances of pseudo-incorporation. Analysis of these constructions sheds light on the nominal structure of Mandinka, including the unusual determiner '-o'. I also discuss the cross-linguistic properties of pseudo-incorporation, and the ramifications this analysis has for a unified account of the phenomenon.
