<h3>Close encounters of the word kind: Attested distributional information boosts statistical learning</h3> <h4>Appendix: Experiment testing the validity of our stimuli</h4> This experiment is reported in the Appendix of the paper documented in the main project folder. Close encounters of the word kind: Attested distributional information boosts statistical learning. *Language Learning, 73*(2), 341–373. https://doi.org/10.1111/lang.12523 *Please find open materials and data below.* --- This project contains two main folders: Materials, and Data and Analysis, described in further detail below: --- **(1) Materials** This folder contains two subfolders: Stimuli and Gorilla. The *Stimuli* folder contains a README file giving a short description of the files contained in this folder. The folder further contains an Excel file outlining the creation of the 2AFC test pairs and another subfolder containing .mp3 files of all 2AFC target and part words (as described in the Excel file). The *Gorilla* folder contains a README file containing a link to the Gorilla Open Materials file of our experiment. --- **(2) Data and Analysis** This folder contains a README file shortly describing the files contained in this folder. It also contains an R project in a .zip folder, as well as .html files of the main analyses scripts (for more convenient, quick access): 1. data preprocessing (combining, cleaning, & anonymising raw data files) 2. data analysis Note that the data and results themselves are contained in the .zip file but can also be interpreted from the .html analysis file.
