Wiki Version:
This OSF project includes all the materials from our speculative design study which examines how people would like to interact with a visualization authoring system that supports autocomplete. Including: 1). **Sketches.zip**. All the sketches we collected. The name of subfolders, e.g., *I1_S1P1* means it is *Participant1*'s sketches in *Study1*, which we coded as *Idea1*. *I10_S4P1-1* and *I11_S4P1-2* indicate S4P1 created more than one idea. ***Notes***: There are four Ideas (*I4, I6, I8, and I11*) don't produce any autocomplete techniques. These four ideas are ambiguous regarding the interaction strategy between users and the system. Instead, they focus on specific technology/aspects - Vocal command in I4, attributes mapping in I6, and detailed interface design in I8. I11 only includes 2 sketches, which prevents it from producing a meaningful autocomplete strategy. The rest three subfolders without Idea number (*S1P2, S1P5, S2P1*) are the ones participants design for text autocompletion instead of visualization. 2). **Study Material.zip**. The material used to conduct the study (The sketch template, Dataset, and analysis tasks prompt) 3). **Coding_session_1.pdf**. The pdf exported from Miro board that records our coding strategy and first coding session results along with participants' sketches. The 2nd and 3rd coding sessions were recorded in spreadsheet (See the next file). 4). **Code List_AutoComplete.xlsx**. The Code Results spreadsheet. It contains 4 sheets: *Code book*, *Session1_data*, *Session2_data*, *Session3_data*. The *Code book* records codes from our coding process. The 3 session data sheets are the results of the three rounds of coding sessions. ***It's important to note*** that though we coded 7 aspects of participants' sketches, we only reported the *Autocomplete techniques* and *High-level procedure* due to the space limit for a short paper. 5). **Coding Results_Vis.png**. The visualization of the coding results. 6). **Questionnaire response.xlsx**. Participants' responses to the pre-study survey. 7). **Frequency_Data_Vis.png** and **Proficiency_Data_vis.png**. The visualization of participants' responses to the pre-study survey. 8). **AutoCompleteVIS23.pdf**. The short paper.
