Why? **Additional Approach Data** An invitation was extended to 93 BDSM practice who were active on the "The Cage" website at the time. The invitation was formulated in a manner (as detailed below) where responding to it constituted consent to participate in the research. It allowed for varying degrees of anonymity according to the participant's preference - providing a phone number for the interview or alternatively, the participant initiating contact to a unique phone number provided for the research.
