Wiki Version:

The materials in this project are for Experiment 1 of the article "Towards a distributed connectionist account of cognates and interlingual homographs: Evidence from semantic relatedness tasks" by Eva D Poort and Jennifer M Rodd (pre-print [here][15]) and go along with the preregistration Investigating the cognate facilitation effect and the interlingual homograph inhibition effect with a semantic relatedness task.

The stimuli and a link to the online experiment can be found in the component Experiment materials.

The raw data can be found in the component Raw data.

The scripts to process the raw data can be found in the component Processing scripts.

The processed data can be found in the component Processed data.

The scripts to analyse the processed data can be found in the component Analysis scripts.

To reproduce just our analyses (confirmatory and exploratory), you will only need to download the materials in the components Processed data and Analysis scripts.

To reproduce the whole chain of data processing and analysis, you can download the materials in the components Raw data, Processing scripts and Analysis scripts. Running the processing scripts on the raw data will produce the processed data, which can then be analysed using the analysis scripts.

The output (not including the data itself) of the entire processing and analysis chain can be found in the document called experimentOverview.xlsx.
