The materials in this project are for Experiment 1 of the article "[Towards a distributed connectionist account of cognates and interlingual homographs: Evidence from semantic relatedness tasks][1]" by Eva D Poort and Jennifer M Rodd (pre-print [here][15]) and go along with the preregistration [Investigating the cognate facilitation effect and the interlingual homograph inhibition effect with a semantic relatedness task][2]. The follow-up experiment [Experiment 2][3] can also be found on the OSF. To reproduce just our analyses (confirmatory and exploratory), you will only need to download the materials in the components [Processed data][4] and [Analysis scripts][5]. To reproduce the whole chain of data processing and analysis, you can download the materials in the components [Raw data][6], [Processing scripts][7] and [Analysis scripts][8]. Running the processing scripts on the raw data will produce the processed data, which can then be analysed using the analysis scripts. The output (not including the data itself) of the entire processing and analysis chain can be found in the document called [experimentOverview.xlsx][9].
