Wiki Version:
A paired t-test will be applied to perceptual intelligibility scores of the NV targets. A split-plot ANOVA will be applied to the d prime scores from the recognition memory test. Memory test items (word type) will serve as a within-subjects factor with two levels (unrelated primes and unrelated targets). Attention will serve as a between-subjects factor with two levels (attending and non-attending). Recollection and Familiarity scores will be calculated from the memory test scores and will also be inputted into an ANOVA (as before). Accuracy of the visual distraction task will be calculated to check participants were attending to the task. EEG data will be visually inspected to remove any trials with excessively high voltages and Independent Component Analysis (ICA) will be used to remove any remaining oculomotor artefacts.
