**Objective** To measure the reliability of Google Translate to assist Native English Non-Spanish speakers in screening articles published in Spanish. **General Description** Every major guidance to conduct and report systematic reviews recommends the inclusion of Non-English literature to avoid Language bias as well as to add precision to the analyzed data. While most reviewers do search for Non-English articles, fewer include such studies due to the burden of translating articles professionally or finding suited experts. We aimed to evaluate the agreements between screeners using Google Translate and native speakers screeners for the Spanish Language. **Protocol** We will search the Virtual Health Library (VHL) maintained by the Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information using [purposive sampling](https://osf.io/n9pmd/wiki/Search%20Question/) to select a research question that outputs at least 100 articles in Spanish language. We will use the same research question to select a set of 200 control studies in English, selected by most-recent publication date. We included clinical trials, cohort, or cross-sectional studies in English and Spanish, respectively. Inclusion criteria will be organized using the patient, intervention, comparison, and outcome (PICO) reporting structure for the selected research question. Reviewers with experience in health research methodology will be paired according to their language abilities (Native English Non-Spanish speakers vs. bilingual speakers). The search results will be imported into two different reviews in the web version of Rayyan. The data for each group was managed independently. Rayyan will be used by the reviewers to screen titles and abstracts independently against inclusion and exclusion criteria. Once eligibility is determined the full text will be read and screened independently too. Discrepancies around inclusion will be resolved by discussion. The same pairs of reviewers will work together in each screening stage. Upon finishing both phases of the review, the final decision data from Rayyan and the forms will be analyzed We will calculated raw agreement between bilingual speakers and English-speaking reviewers for eligibility of foreign-language and English-language articles. Sensitivity, specificity, number of ineligible articles incorrectly identified, and number of eligible articles missed in the screening strategies will be calculated. **Key words** Systematic review; Methodology; Study selection; Language of publication; Bias; Systematic review; English-language bias; neural machine translation
