Wiki Version:
These line and grid files rank the streets of LA by level of cleanliness. This data comes from the City of Los Angeles Open Data, Shared By: oscar.figueroa@lacity.org, Data Source: services5.arcgis.com On the clean streets website: http://cleanstreetsla.com/clean-streets-map "As part of Mayor Eric Garcetti's Clean Streets initiative, LA Sanitation and Environment drives, every quarter, all of LA's public streets and alleys (traveling over 22,000 miles!) and gives each block a "cleanliness score" from 1-3 1. Clean 2. Somewhat Clean 3. Not Clean The data shown here was collected and compiled from 2017 through 2018. LA Sanitation and Environment is currently assessing the city streets, and the data will be updated thereafter. Each street score is based on four factors: litter, weeds, bulky items, and illegal dumping. Los Angeles is leading the way as the only big city in the US conducting a regular cleanliness assessment of every City street. While the data collected is restricted to the City of Los Angeles' public right of way, the city is in discussions with other local public entities to determine the best way to measure cleanliness on property the City of Los Angeles does not own. Understanding the City Send keyboard focus to media Of the 42,489 road segments, about 91% were rated clean, 7% were rated somewhat clean, while streets rated unclean made up <1% of total street segments. This data has been aggregated into operational grids which helps the LA Sanitation and Environment to strategically deploy resources, such as a new dedicated CARE or CARE+ team. Get Involved! You can help by scheduling a bulky item pickup, reporting illegal dumping, or reporting locations that require Encampment Services by using the MyLA311 app or calling the LA Sanitation and Environment Customer Care Center, available by phone 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, directly at 1-800-773-2489.
