Wiki Version:
Learning by observing the expert surgeon is a common technique in surgical training, whether in the operating room or through simulation. There is growing evidence that new 3D surgical systems provide benefits for surgical performance, but it is unclear whether observing in 3D provides similar benefits for learning. This project aims to compare the early stage learning of basic motor skills on the daVinci robotic surgery platform from 3D vs 2D observation.
