These tables show the underlying country-level data on the impacts of repealing the Helms Amendment. They show the changes in abortion-related costs and numbers of maternal deaths, abortion and PAC cases under two scenarios: (1) current provision of care and (2) current provision of care, but if all unsafe abortions were provided safely. The impact of repealing the Helms Amendment was assessed as the difference in costs and impacts if abortions were provided safely in the countries where abortion is legal on at least some grounds and where the United States is already supporting family planning programs.
