Wiki Version:
Five Years of Science with ALMA: A Review Pierre Cox (Joint ALMA Observatory) The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) has been conducting science observations for the community since October 2011 with the start of Cycle 0. Today, the fourth cycle (Cycle 3) is being completed and Cycle 4 will begin in October 2016. In its first half decade, ALMA has produced many exciting and fundamental results, enabling transformational science from the solar system to the early universe. I will present a selection of the remarkable ALMA scientific results, emphasizing their evolution with the gradual expansion of the observing capabilities and the ramping up towards full operations. I will also compare the current results with the original fundamental science goals and outline the future evolution of ALMA. ?
