Wiki Version:
The analysis will be conducted with linear regression with post-study (that is immediately after the two weeks of exercise) life satisfaction as a dependent variable. Pre-study life satisfaction and the number of good things to be reported each day of the exercise will serve as an independent variables. We will use linear and quadratic contrasts for the number of good things to be reported. Thus, the regression will include three independent variables. Data from participants that will fail to provide at least one good event in their daily exercise questionnaire at least on five occasions (i.e. those who will access the questionnaire 9 or less times out of 14 possible) will be excluded from analysis. Whether the participants provided at least one good event will be determined after the end of the exercise. All events from all participants will be pooled and randomized and we will then determine whether each of the events is or is not a valid good thing (i.e. for instance whether it makes sense). The information about validity of events will be then connected back to the data from participants. We will also exclude data from participants that will fail to answer the SWLS in the entry questionnaire or in the post-study questionnaire. Data from participants that will not have valid answers for SWLS in the two remaining questionnaires will not be excluded because they are (together with the PANAS measure) intended only for exploratory analyses. <br> <br> The file "analysis.R" contains a script that will be used for the analysis of the primary hypothesis. The file "test.R" contains code for testing the "analysis.R" script. The file "results.R" contains all code used for results reported in the publication (written after data collection).
