The data component contains three files.
**1. RB_MorrisStill_Replication_RawDataFiles.zip** contains the 24 MATLAB data files (*.mat) collected for the current replication. Each contains seven variables.
> (i) *allPracticeResponse* is a 10×1 cell array of strings containing
> the participant's typed responses to the practice trials.
>
> (ii) *allResponse* is a 136×1 cell array of strings containing the
> participant's typed responses to the experimental trials.
>
> (iii) *color* is a structure with five fields containing trivial
> information about the luminance values requested in the experimental
> code.
>
> (iv) *equipment* is a structure with 19 fields containing information
> about the apparatus (for example, viewing distance and screen
> resolution).
>
> (v) *experiment* is a structure with 11 fields containing general
> information about the experiment (for example, which word list was
> used).
>
> (vi) *letter* is a structure with 17 fields containing information
> about the letter stimuli (for example, fonts and sizes).
>
> (vii) *temporal* is a structure with 9 fields containing timing
> information (for example, presentation times and inter-stimulus
> intervals).
The data can be compiled using the *RB_MorrisStill_Replication_Analysis.m* script available in the materials component. They should be unzipped and placed in the folder specified on line 23 of that script.
**2. RB_MorrisStill_Replication_MATLAB_Output.zip** contains the MATLAB output generated by the *RB_MorrisStill_Replication_Analysis.m* script. It contains five files.
> (i) *MATLABOutput_CommandWindow.txt* gives the output to the MATLAB
> command window. This comprises four tables.
>
> - Table 1. Mean Percentages of Intervening Item Recall for Word and Nonword Lists in Neighbor and Control Conditions;
>
> - Table 2. Number of Repetitions in 3-item Trials as a Function of Condition, Lexicality and Neighborhood Size;
>
> - Table 3. Number of Repetitions in 2-item Trials as a Function Lexicality; and
>
> - Table 4. Mean Percentages of Partial Recall of Critical and Intervening Items for Word and Nonword Lists in the Control
> Condition).
>
> (ii) *MATLABOutput_Figure1_CPR_3ItemTrials.pdf* shows the mean
> percentage of correct critical pair recall in three-item trials as a
> function of condition, lexicality and neighborhood size. Error bars
> show ±1 standard error of the mean (SEM).
>
> (iii) *MATLABOutput_Figure2_CPR_2ItemTrials.pdf* shows the mean
> percentage of correct critical pair recall in two-item trials as a
> function of lexicality. Error bars show ±1 SEM.

> (iv) *MATLABOutput_Figure3_IIR.pdf* shows the mean percentage of
> intervening item recall as a function of condition, lexicality and
> neighborhood size. Error bars show ±1 standard error of the mean SEM.

> intervening item recall as a function of condition and lexicality.
> Error bars show ±1 standard error of the mean SEM.
**3. RB_MorrisStill_Replication_SPSS_SyntaxOutput** contains the SPSS syntax generated by the *RB_MorrisStill_Replication_Analysis.m* script, and the resulting SPSS output. It contains two folders.
*Syntax* contains the SPSS syntax. It contains eight files.
> (i) *CPR_byItem_1Way.sps* contains the syntax for one-way ANOVAs of
> critical pair recall, separately for words and nonwords, with items as
> cases.
