Wiki Version:
Our series study targeted at exploring the impact of **speed/trajectory** on reading performance on magnitude proportion estimation of **moving donut/bar** charts. Our series study contains: 1st: study1_speed_donut - https://osf.io/km3s2/ 2nd: study1_speed_bar - https://osf.io/9h7vg/ 3rd: study2_trajectory_donut - https://osf.io/9c4bz/ 4th: study2_trajectory_bar - https://osf.io/9c4bz/ The current repository is for the 1st one: study1_speed_donut. Here is an explanation about which file/folder is what. - You can find our study design (or the slides version of our online study) in "Study Design - Study 1 - Speed - Donut Chart.pptx". We also pasted a link to the online experiment there. - The implementation of this study is in"study1_speed_donut_codes.zip", we offer you a read me file to let you know how to run or duplicate our study and go to where to find the recorded answers. The frame uploaded here does not contain our own experiment's results, the log folder is empty. - Please find our study results in "study1_speed_donut_results.zip", and its analysis scripts in "study1_speed_donut_AnalysisScripts.zip". We provide again a read me file to let you know how to run the analysis scripts. - You can find our pilot results in "study1_speed_donut_pilot.zip". *The following files/folders are not only related to this single experiment, but also related to other studies in the same series.* - "study1_participants_survey_collection.zip" contains study1_speed_donut and study1_speed_bar's general information of participants directly exported from Prolific, including gender, age, etc. It also contains a collection of survey results of study1_speed_donut and study1_speed_bar. - "study1_comparing_speed_AnalysisScript.zip" is where you can find the analysis scripts to compare across representations (donut/bar). It used the results of study1_speed_donut and study1_speed_bar. - "comparing_speed_plots.zip" contains the plots for comparison between representations (donut/bar). - "strategy_coding.zip" lists all strategies received in four experiments and contains our strategy coding. *The following file is used in pre-registration.* - "static_afterimage.gif" is an example static stimulus that we used to explain the main task in study1_speed_donut.
